We Need To Help Conserv Fundies Run THEIR OWN CANDIDATES!
Give them a place on the ballot to vote for representatives who believe just like they do, and save them from voting as a wholesale lot for Rovian Republicans who use them for political purposes but abhor them behind their backs.

Suffice to say the Republicans will not win a single race if Conservative Fundies voted for their own candidates instead of Republicans.

As an added benefit, folks like James Dobson and the Focus on the Family would not have nearly the political power they enjoy now, nor the money funneled to them from Republican backers they have used to attack 'liberal' democrats.

Wonder how Karl would like them apples?

2. You Don't Have To Agree With Opponents To Allow Them On The Ballot
Edited on Fri Oct-06-06 11:06 AM by Blackhatjack
...take a look at all the groups you never heard of that run candidates for President of the United States in the past. It did not harm democracy to allow them on the ballot, and the tiny percentage they polled did not have a significant effect on the outcome of those races.

The only time a small group of non-Democratic/non-Republican voters had a significant impact was Nader's run that put Bush in office. However, they had been around a long time, had small but committed grass roots supporters, and scored enough votes in previous elections to make it on the ballot that time.

When you do not give minority voting groups a choice on the ballot, they are prime candidates to be manipulated by those who do make it on the ballot. Exhibit A: Rove's manipulation of the conservative fundie base.

3. Borrow a page from the Rove playbook, just as they fund
greens to siphon off progressives from democratic moderates.
