What is the ONE thing that the fundies want MORE than anything?
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 06:50 PM by Horse with no Name
This is the one thing that would bring them back into the fold. Are there any doubts that Bush and SCOTUS won't (attempt) to throw them that bone?:scared:

1. Well, the SCOTUS is back in session.
Maybe that will be the October surprise, cause the fundies base sure isn't happy right now.

15. Are there any abortion cases on the docket? I don't think there are.
I could be wrong.

16. Here -
The court has decided to hear 38 cases so far. Among them, whether school systems can racially balance their classrooms and the Bush administration's defense of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003.

Two federal appeals courts have declared the Partial-Birth Abortion Act unconstitutional. They based their rulings on a 5-4 Supreme Court decision six years ago that struck down a similar law in Nebraska.

Bonventre said, "The deciding vote was Sandra Day O'Connor. She's no longer on the court. Samuel Alito is on the court, so a lot may depend upon how he votes."

11. Yup. That's what they want.
Every month on the 21st (I think) they stand around in the 'touchdown' posish.

3. If they gave them Roe v. Wade they could NEVER play that card again.
It has worked too well for too long for them ever to give it up.
That is what canards are for.

8. Yeah, they value the wedge more than the fundies themselves.
Besides I don't think there's time to play that card even if they wanted to.

9. I don't think they have a choice
They are going to have to do SOMETHING to get this election.
Currently, that is their only trump card.

10. I agree.
It's just too valuable a tool for them to ever use it up. Red meat for the faithful.

Same reason they'll never "find" Bin Laden.

5. For all normal people to drop dead.
And yes, there are many people promising them that and, no doubt, many prayers to that effect.

They thought they had it in Bush, they didn't. Someone else will come along and they'll get fooled again. Bet on it.
