5. It's not necessarily as extreme as it sounds

Arizona law is very specific about the definition of "penetration" with regards to assault. Any entry, no matter how slight, would qualify. Unless the victim is wearing extremely tight, constricting clothing, it possible to achieve penetration as defined by law. With normally fitting cloths, it would be pretty easy.

I'm not sure how this could not be classed as a sex crime, but it's been more than 15 years since I've looked at the Arizona statutes. There is probably some technical distinction involving sexual gratification between this kind of assault and rape.
