6. No Draft Will Be Needed! Please Read!

Hey Guys,

Ok, as you all know there are 4 major branches of the military. They are of course the Army, Marines, Navy, and in a time of war the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard in peacetime lies with the Department of Motherland Security (aka Gestapo).

Regardless, the Army is squirming with troop numbers and you "slacker" civilians do not want to join, right? Well, guess what the green giant is doing? They are taking forces away from the Navy, Air Force, and even the Coast Guard. You heard right, they are literally drafting the armed forces of America.

Most of these guys are what's called "Individual Augmentees". Look at it this way: You are sitting at your job in the military, let's take mine for example. I am an Aerographers Mate in the United States Navy. So an NCO will walk through the door promoting IA. Facing downsizing in the military (A pretty way of saying your ass is unemployed) you are faced with the option of going to Iraq for a year and keeping your job, or them finding a way to boot you out of your livelihood.

You take the offer, and the next thing you know you are in either North Carolina or Kansas recieving only 12 days of training. The training includes how to properly hold a weapon, basic Army drill and marching, and an indocronation to the Middle East. Well there you have it, 12 days and you are combat ready.

They send you to either Djibouti,Kuwait, Iraq or Afghanistan to an Army unit, usually infantry unless you are stellar at things such as intelligence, or the sciences. There you are in Iraq for a year, with little training, and your family back home all because the Navy is cutting jobs for the Army to pick up bodies.

It's a dangerous situation these guys get into. They recieve little, often times bland training, and have no battle techniques whatsoever. 12 IA's have been killed in the first year alongside their fellow Seabee and Security sailors.

I for one do not have any intentions of joining this trap, but feel secure for now, because the other forces are picking up the slack.

7. Don't forget the Air Force

Airmen are serving as combat convoy drivers, and combat convoy escort guards, and have been from the onset of this damn war. The days of airmen operateing inside the fence is something from the past.

Oh, U.S. Coast Guard reservists have been deployed, and standing watch on Iraq's offshore oil equipment since 2003.
