4. October 10, 1969 for me
I was one of the lucky ones that didn't go to Nam.

It was a matter of lucky timing. They would never admit this, but up until a couple months before I got my assignment, they regularly sent known anti-war protestors to Nam. Then they reversed course (probably because of so many fragging incidents) and started sending them to Germany or Korea. In my infantry training company, about 80-85% went to Nam, but the 6 known anti-war protestors all went to Germany or Korea.
