I googled my name and I am listed
as a woman in(my town in Fl)who held a sign saying Bush lied. Wow! I guess I can expect a visit from FBI as I must be a terrorist.

4. Yeah, I just googled my name for fun
and found out which petition lists are online - but my name is common enough that there were many of 'me' doing all sorts of interesting things around the country - a major in the military, a romance writer, an ardent feminist - I feel like I am in good company. :)

I googled my DU name and found out that I've been honored by the Freeps in their
The 3rd Annual 10 Worst Quotes From The Democratic Underground For 2005 for
this little ode to the Freepin-Fundie Repukes:

"Pure Concentrated Evil... false christians filled with hate and fear who desire to
put the world in bondage and extract all the value and profit they can from their
spoils of their pillage. May they all suffer unfortunate doom."

Wow... It's only a honorable mention .. but I am so damn proud.

We should all google our screen names from time to time for kicks and giggles. But not advised for the nervous! Sometimes one finds some really scary people are stalking them on the internet.

that liberals are naturally more tolerant than conservatives. They seem to have the fixed idea that DU is intolerant, just because we have civil rules of discourse (posted) that tend to screen their BS out.

If they pre-screened their own BS before trying to post it here, they would get along just fine--lots of Freepers manage to stick around here for hundreds--even thousands-- of posts, just by being civil and following the rules.

Yeah, Jesus was a liberal. Talk about intolerant! He threw the moneylenders out of the Senate, er,the temple, er...well it's hard to keep up with those conservative types...

and it was decided that since nobody could be so rational and kind, I must use a lot of drugs!

Gee, they couldn't find fault in my logic so they decided I was always stoned? Shit oh dear, my sister would get a giggle out of that. Two of her nicknames for me are : Crusader Rabbit & Goody Two Shoes.

Freepers will believe all the shit bushco feeds them but can't believe in the possibility there are people who are just naturally rational and kind. Geeze, that does tell us a lot about them and the roots of our problems WITH THEM. ;)

17. My last name is kind of unusual,
but there's another "me" out there. She's a Yale Ph.D. who is on the faculty of a university in New York, and she actually e-mailed me a few years ago, amazed at finding someone else with her exact name.

She might not be so happy with it if she knew that last year I sent an e-mail to the White House calling the Dumbass the worst president ever, and explaining in great detail exactly why I feel that way. I wouldn't be surprised if my name's on a little list somewhere, along with the other few people with the same name.

I also play piano at a bar in DC. Who knew? It's particularly interesting because I have an unusual name. The rest of the results leave no questions as to my liberally atheistic politics.

I also showed up in two porn sites, but neither of those pages actually contained my name. Clearly I have something to hide. See you at Gitmo! :hi:

26. Found the document: Dick Cheney called Nelson Mandela a terrorist leader

How Cheney Opposed Head Start, MLK Day, and the Release of Mandela
October 06, 2004
By: Amy Goodman
Democracy Now

JOHN NICHOLS: You're right. There's a chapter in the book, it's actually entitled "Apartheid's Congressman." It's about Cheney's service in the house from 1979 to 1989. One of the things that is done in that chapter is a list of the dozens and dozens of votes on which Cheney was one of less than ten members of the house putting him at the extreme edge in voting for very right-wing, very bizarre positions. And I was very delighted about this -- I was delighted to hear finally in a national political debate someone bring up that Mandela vote. I have talked to Nelson Mandela about these issues. He's very blunt about it he says one of the many reasons why he fears Dick Cheney's power in the United states, and Mandela does say, he understands that Cheney is effectively the President of the United States, he says, one of the many reasons that he fears Dick Cheney's power is that in the late 1980's when even prominent republicans like Jack Kemp and Newt Gingrich were acknowledging the crime of Apartheid, Dick Cheney maintained the lie that the ANC was a terrorist organization and a fantasy that Nelson Mandela was a terrorist leader who deserved to be in jail. Frankly it begs very powerful question. If Dick Cheney's judgment was that bad in the late 1980's, why would we believe that it's gotten any better in the early 21st century?

52. For some reason I am down to about 235 results on google.
The right got bent out of shape about one of my posts and I ended up in all sorts of places and the things they said about me - whew! Unfortunately the thread that caused my thread got locked before I could actually truly clear up anything. Then, from all of those RW blogs, Rush Limpballs picked it up and made up a fabricated story from my true one. I actually wrote to him explaining everything and asking for a retraction but the jerk would not give in.

I found out about the Limpballs part of the story when I did a search. I found the story at Liberal Underground and replied to it under my user name from here. This is the URL: http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=60876&subForumID=159321&action=viewTopic&commentID=4063199&topicPage=1

I think, after several posts, I was at least able to clear my name over there. I was afraid to start another thread here in case it also was locked. At any rate, RWers had a field day with my story and most of them must have refused to even read my whole thread or else they would have seen that I said what was done was wrong and should never happen. Oh well, I never expected them to make a decision based on the truth anyway.
