1. But, of course - it IS a homeopathic "remedy"
I used to study the history of homeopathy in America quite a bit. Still have almost all the reference material.

2. what's up with that?
it's usually followed by some nasty hemeroid treatment, repeated 3 times, and one other one. i laugh every time i hear it, then i feel sad for what has become of intelligence.

3. Hilarious: the box says "extra strength."
So -- two molecules of dubious active ingredient rather than one??

4. Who said there was even one atom?
Edited on Fri Jul-28-06 10:32 PM by longship
The dilution rate of homeopathic so-called medicines is so high that there is near zero chance that even a single atom of the so-called active ingredient in their over-priced so-called "solutions".

Of course, chemists have been using the same kind of high dilution rates to purify their experiments for over a century. Yet not a single chemist has *ever* reported effects of the kind that the homeopathic nuts claim. In fact, were homeopathic claims a fact, it would render a century of chemistry findings null and void.

But, rest assured. Homeopathy is bunk and chemistry still works the way it's supposed to.

5. I have no faith in homeopathy...but I must say.....
I bought Head On...before I knew it was a homeopathic remedy....it works for me...no lie(I would not lie to people when it comes to pain)....it worked for me within minutes...not only for my migraine but my arthritic neck pain as well....nothing else helped...relief lasts 3-4 hours...there is no dosage so there is no overdosing....you use it when you need it.....I swear by it....

6. It was an amazingly ignorant article.
I'm not endorsing either "Head On" or homeopathy, but to use the low concentration of active ingredient as "proof" that it's a scam shows complete ignorance of the principles of homeopathy.

Homeopathic remedies ALL have low concentrations of active ingredient.

10. That's why they're a scam.
All homeopathy is a scam. That's the point of the article.

11. I'm a skeptic and I've seen different results from homeopathy.
My issue is less with the accusation than the "evidence" presented.

It's akin to saying that nuclear power is a "sham" because there's no way something as small as an atom could harness sufficient energy. One might have very good reasons for opposing nuclear power, but the reasoning is still based in ignorance.

12. Your analogy fails
Ina nuclear power plant, bomb, etc. works -- you have objective proof that it does.

Homeopathy fails -- there is objective proof of that.

Also in any use of nuclear power there are literally billions and trillions (cue Carl Sagan) of atoms that are all working. Homeopathy may or may not have a single atom.
