What Bush is doing right now is what caused 9/11 ...
Absolutely nothing. As Israel rampaged over the Palestinians and the world was calling for action, Mr Bush thought it best that he not "get involved". More than any other event or reason, that was why we were attacked on 9/11. Let us hope history does not repeat itself with this incompetent, religious fanatical simpleton leading our nation once again when we should be taking the lead to stop these hostilities rather than approving the actions of Israel by our silence. If we are atacked again, look back at this date.

2. then
why did we have the first attack on the WTC, the US Cole, the Marines in Beirut back in early 80, various attacks on our embassy's? The road to Sept. 11 started long before either Bush was elected. Just my humble opinion

4. That happened
because Ramsi Yousef and Osama bin Laden wanted to bring the fight to America because of America's support for Israel, and because of the suffering of the Palestinians. So there is some significantly similar ground being traveled here.

7. That analysis is so simple and so correct
as to escape or be willfully ignored by the ruling Regime. IMO, we are setting up Iraq to follow the path of Iran. Soon we will back a "Ruler" akin to the Shah who will rule through our bayonets and fear and cause a reastion as was seen in Iran in 1979.

11. True.
But the perfect "patsy" wasn't in office who would respond to a criminal act by turning it into a war. The amount of credibility Bush has given the islamic fundies is incredible.

12. That's what the OP is saying....our TOTAL support of Israel while
ignoring the plight of the Palestinians since the 60's, plus our overthrow of the elected president of Iran in 1953, and our sanctions and boycotts of other Arab countries across time, created the hatred against the USA, resulting in those attacks.

What we're doing today, in Iraq and Afghanistan and by NOT attempting to stop this retaliation by Israel, will come back to 'bite us in the ass' again!

5. Exactly!
In 25 years Iraq will have a reactionary response to American Hegemony (ala our puppet The Shah & Iran in 1979). But of course, those who have made BILLIONS off of this catastrophe will have long protected their gains with their willing partners in Government.

6. so we're held hostage by Muslim extremists
If what you say is true, then world leaders have a choice:

*Behave in a way that is pleasing to Muslim extremists or
*Have 3000 of your citizens die at the hands of Muslim extremists

What a world we live in.

10. The question everyone forgot to ask about 9/11, until now...
Edited on Fri Jul-14-06 12:57 PM by Hubert Flottz
What kind of goat was the goat in 'My Pet Goat', the book that Bush couldn't put down, at that grade school in Florida on 9/11?

Was it a scapegoat?

Bush's book about 9/11, if he ever writes one, should be called 'My Scapegoat'

You are correct. This moron is STILL conducting his 'cowboy chicken shit diplomacy'. This administration is a flagship for gross ineptitude.
