"From this day forward, we will no longer break the law..."
Does that excuse whatever law you may may broken before today? Professor David Cole of Georgetown was asked a similar question this morning on C-SPAN. If you are breaking the laws of our country and/or international laws in regards to torture, then you are a "war criminal". Not from this day forward, but also, in the past. There have been no passes given to any leaders or soldiers of any country. We must be a country of laws. What does this mean?

2. That does seem to be the "new" policy of this White House...?
Can they get a majority of sheep in the Congress to agree with them?

3. Explains GOP affinity (pretended of sincere) with certain religious dogma
Go and sin no more Hey, boys, just so you're sorry and will change yer ways, all's forgiven. Now run along and PLAY NICE this time.

That works on the good but is just another Get Out of Jail Free card to those who really need to repent some vile legal sins.

4. Oh yeah, I can see that being allowed as a defense in a regular court
of law. :sarcasm: Whatever happened to our being a country of laws... or is that a country of laws only if the Dems mess up? :grr:

Besides knowing neo-CON mentality what they really mean is they will no longer break the law if there's any chance we could get caught.

10. "a country of laws only if the Dems mess up?"
Well, exactly. The "Rule Of Law" only applies to a Democrat getting a blow job from an intern. Trying to apply the law to Republicans had to end on September 11, when Saddam Hussein ordered vicious attacks on America and started the war only Republicans can win. :sarcasm:

and she did so as if she had no critical thinking skills whatsoever!

Also, when she closed her segment with him, she said "thanks for sharing your opinion"

7. Is it possible to prosecute a former President once he is out of office?
Can Bush be tried in civil courts for any laws that he may have broken while he was in office? Of course, while he is in office, he can only be impeached. But he knew that would not happen with "his" Party in power. Can he be held responsible for laws broken once he returns to Crawford or Austin?

11. It means we are fucked.
It means they are lying.

It means "we will continue to break the law as and when we see fit".

It means fascism.

It means all the things that everyone on this board has known damn well for the last three years.

13. I think we should pursue investigations after they leave office....
They should be pursued in a court of law until the day they die, in my humble opinion.
