Kucinich gets GAO to investigate funding of permanent bases

The Government Accountability Office agreed Tuesday to examine whether the Pentagon is building permanent bases in Iraq and plans to commit troops there for years. Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Democrat of Cleveland, pressed during a hearing for the GAO review, said that although the Bush administration has denied plans for a permanent presence in Iraq, it has kept out language in appropriations bills that would have banned spending money on permanent bases. "I am glad the GAO will finally investigate this issue and answer this urgent question once and for all," Kucinich said.

He will do as he wants. Just look at the money he gives to the Churches he likes and it is our money. Right now he is running for office or to keep GOP in office so he is really into lie mode. He is pushing to make us think he has changed his ways and his base is pushing to get every thing they want before Nov. Interesting.

His nephew just got back from Iraq and that they were building permanent bases. This was right before the 2004 presidential election. Many soldiers know this. Why doesn't the congress? Do they believe everything this administration tells them.
