for '06 and '08 elections.
(If you don't know what I'm talking about, read Lakoff.)
My question: why are so many of you falling for it?
I'm not saying that everyone should be for unlimited immigration. But I am asking why so many of you are so willing to use strict father frames (which reaffirm peoples sens that Republicans see the world in the right way) to think and talk about immigration?
If unemployment is your concern, why aren't you more worried about interests rates which actually have a tight correlation with unemployment (whereas immigration doesn't -- don't believe, listen to CounterSpin and Fair.org from a couple weeks ago). Why don't you care about all the things Republicans do to destroy the chance for people to have well-paying jobs?
As for the question about citizenship vs residence requirements for voting in local elections, why do so many people think about this with the strict father frame rather than the Revolutionary War taxation without representation frame?
So strange.
