2. If you want it to be Gore/Clark, I have no problems with that.
Al Gore just proved to us that he is presidential, as he has done over the last 8 yearss.

Clark would make a good vice president.

4. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!
Clark would make an excellent PRESIDENT or even Secretary of State. Why would you want a mind that sharp stuck as vice president?

And Gore is NOT running (I'm in Tennessee. I've been a Gore fan longer than most of you, but I do believe him when he says he's not running!)

11. Sorry, I like Gore for president and I will continue to hope that
he runs for the office he deserves, he won it in 2000.

Clark would make a wonderful Secretary of State, but the issue was the ticket in '08. If it is projected to involved Gore & Clark, Gore would make the better President, hands down.

:hi:

12. I don't think so.
But OK.

I would like to state first and foremost here, however, that Clark CANNOT BE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE until he's been out of service for 10 years, which will be in 2010, so I don't want to hear any calls for that shit.

16. I didn't say squat about Secretary of Defense.

I said Secretary of State or Vice Pres.

He is not as qualified as Gore, not by a long shot. That is a simple fact.

Also, I don't know of any speeches he has given that contain the same logical discussion of the crimes of the administration, that call for putting aside partisanship for the sake of our nation.

If you have a speech that Clark wrote that is as powerful as this speech, please share the link with me.

The fact that Gore wrote this speech, that he is a much more well known and respected figure than Clark and that he has had to the nerve to say what many of our leaders have failed to say, "damn the parties, protect the nation" all lead me to the same conclusion, he is the most qualified person for the 2008 presidency.

5. I think Clark would have to agree to V.P. spot...
don't know whether he would be willing...I don't think Al would be willing to do the VP again..

My thought: Al Gore and Russ Feingold...I think that would be a dynamite pairing!

That's much more to my liking than putting a general in the WH.

Especially ones that support the occupation.

8. It's a good possibility, but Gore would have to be on the top of the
ticket. Why? he has served as VP and he was our nominee in '00 and won the election only to have it stolen from him. He has earned the honor of being the nominee for president.

10. I'd vote for Gore, but I'd be EXTREMELY RELUCTANT to vote...
Edited on Mon Jan-16-06 02:17 PM by mike_c
...for Clark, and he might very well be a ticket breaker for me. Possibly as vice pres, but even that would take a lot of consideration. I doubt very seriously that I could EVER accept Clark as a presidential candidate.

I need assurance that Clark would not be too pro-military. The Pentagon under Bush has become way more powerful than is healthy for democracy, not to mention U.S. foreign policy. I'd need to be very confident that Clark is committed to rolling back the influence and power of the military-- something that I don't think is very likely.

13. I would proudly vote for Gore for pres
but would not support Clark as vp.

Anyone that supports the SOA, to this day, will never get my vote.

15. Clark was or has not ever
been a serious presidential candidate. He was thrown in last time to take votes away from Dean. You guys need to recognize that reality once and for all.

19. if that's true, it's downright criminal....
Dean would have chucked dubya out on his ear in 2004. Democrats were PASSIONATE about Dean, and he did more to energize the base early in the race than all the other candidates combined. The DLC establishment FEARED Dean. Their strategy during the primaries, which can be summarized as "get rid of Howard Dean," cost America four more years of the Bush nightmare. :grr:

17. Yup, I posted this in another thread...Clark knows the international
policy, Gore, great on domestic (but really, he's smart enough to absorb ANYTHING).

I would sleep better at night with these two in office, that's for sure...

I'm ready for a 3rd party, since DC Democrats ignore these two, it seems...they are too cowardly to act like these two great leaders....

ANY of the above tickets would get my support.
