So, my interpretation of this is that republicans believe that science is not qualitatively different from religion? So, what empirical checks are in place to ensure the accuracy of a creation myth?

Science, unlike religion, has been proven. If you want your kids to learn Creationism or whatever, send them to a private christian school or if you're low on money, fucking homeschool them. Don't try to push this creation shit into the public schools. They really don't need it.

I bet that quote is from Mrs.Ann Coulter-Hitler.
