Anyone see the "Addicted to Oil" special with Tom Friedman?
It premiered on the Discovery Channel yesterday, I just picked it up on TiVo today. Anyone see it yet?

2. I saw it as well.
And boy it was not complimentary of the US government and how it protects big oil. Basically, most of technologies exist to free us from oil. I especially liked the use of wind power and the gas produced from prarie gas but because the government protects big oil with huge subsidies and nothing for alternative fuels we continue our self-destructive cycle. It gave me hope while at the same time disheartened me. But isn't Friedman a repuke?

3. It should be required for every american to watch this program,
yup required viewing by all. It wasn't the end all to end all programs on the subject of alternative energy, but for me it told the story in a way that everyone could understand.

For the people that's been interested in green energy for years, it was a welcome sign that the media is catching up. Just this week some republican senator after reading Al Gore's book, stood up and announced that global warming is a problem.

This republican senator made news by saying this to the public, as silly as this is i'll take it if it indeeds helps get this information out to the public.

I only hope we keep seeing more of these programs on the Tee Wee, it's the only way to inform the unconcerned.

4. I decided not to watch it as soon as I heard, "Tom Friedman"
But I might watch a repeat on your reccomendation.

BTW, Friedman was a cheerleader for the Iraq war, and offered all sorts of convoluted justifications long after it was clear there were no WMD.
