I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR CALLING OUR REPS. A "DO-NOTHING-CONGRESS
While it is true that they have met less than ANY Congress in at least 25 years, they did finally agree on a very important issue. They voted themselves another raise.

2. Yeah, they've done themselves proud yet again, haven't they?

We should send them pink slips in the mail. Millions of pink slips.

3. while working fewer days than any congress before them
these guys are unbelievable!

And if you check the record, many of the days they do 'work' they recite the pledge of allegiance at 2 pm, and then end for the day.

4. curtailed our freedoms, erased corporate accountability, sold out our
security to foreign adversaries and re-adjusted the wealth massively to the top 1 - 2%. You damn them with faint praise.

5. Alas, Our Democratic Congress...
didn't even do that... as usual, their vote was irrelevant and they still can't even submit proposals for legislation--without having first begged for Republican approval (which is never given--unless it serves the Repulican strategy). Oh, they supported it of course--giving themselves a raise, but they didn't even have to show up and everything would've been taken care of by the Republican machine.

Actually, if they had wanted the Congress to forego giving itself a raise--all they would have needed to do, was to have tried to propose just that! The Republicans would have canned the whole idea, just to spite the Democrats! (Nah, that's not true, one cannot underestimate the Greed of the Congress, especially the Republicans--they would have supported anything self-serving enough!)

6. A "Raise" ...you mean sucking up all that Lobbyist Money means they
just "can't get by?" It's so sad.

Yet, many of us might think if we gave them the standard/baseline going rate for CEO's/CFO's and Corporate Board Members in the MILLIONS they might answer to "We the People." But...that "money on the side" does sort of "supplement" for that "Corporate Stuff" doesn't it.

Who knows...Their salaries compared to CEO's are lacking... Would it make a difference if we gave them more? Would they be more responsible to "WE THE PEOPLE?" Some say Yes...and many say NO they would still take the "side money" from the Lobbyists so we would Pay more in the end. Some say "Lobby Reform" is the total answer. I do think their pay should be raised but in tandem with "Lobby Reform" so that we give them raises but it's based on how they perform.

7. At least they are passing the most IMPORTANT LEGISLATION......
to THEM. Corrupt crooks, liars and thieves better pack their bags 'cause the bloated pay checks won't be coming after NOVEMBER 2006.
