Dozens of skeletons found on site for new LA school

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Archaeologists say they have discovered the remains of 80 bodies at the construction site for a new Los Angeles high school.

The city began using the hillside location near downtown as a cemetery in the 1860s.

But officials say they reviewed records before construction began in 2003 on the 208-(m) million dollar performing arts high school and concluded the cemetery had been relocated.

Then workers started finding empty caskets, partial remains and intact skeletons.

4. same thing happened in San Francisco - a lot!
In 1909, all the bodies buried in San Francisco cemeteries were supposed to be moved out of town. Some contractors found it a lot easier to just remove the gravestones, tell the city the job was done and pocket the cash. It's estimated that 100,000 people are still buried under the Lincoln Park golf course - see here for details. And that was only one of the cemeteries! Since most records were destroyed after the 1906 earthquake, no one knows just who was buried where for the most part.

3. Could it be the ancient tribe of "Skeleton People" that the Onion
speaks of?

http://www.theonion.com/content/node/29976

"Imagine: At one time, this entire area was filled with spooky, bony, walking skeletons."

"The implications are staggering," Hutchins continued. "We now know that the skeletons we see in horror films and on Halloween are not mere products of the imagination, but actually lived on Earth."

Still more evidence emerges that we had to take him out. Not only are there mass graves in Iraq but there are already mass graves over here.

Now do you understand why we had to invade Iraq and fight them over there?
