1. What politicians support cracking down on businesses that hire illegals?
That makes sense to me.

5. How Do You Do That Without Making Them Discriminate Against Anyone…
…who looks Mexican?

9. For the last 15-20 years ...
... I've been REQUIRED to submit proof of my 'right to work' in the US for every job I've taken and a few I merely interviewed for. I've typically provided my passport as proof of citizenship. I see absolutely NOTHING that exempts a person who "looks Mexican" from being subject to the same requirements. When the Social Security Administration sends an employer over 200 letters in a year that indicate mismatches on Social Security numbers, full names, and dates of birth, and those letters are ignored, there's no reasonable doubt in my mind that the employer is deliberately hiring "undocumented aliens."

10. There's Quite a Trade in Fake Documents
Passports are expensive and poor folks don't have them. In fact, most Americans don't have them.

So you're probably talking about a birth certificate, which is a fairly easily counterfeited piece of paper,
and a social security card, which is even easier.

Could you tell a fake one from a real one? I couldn't.

2. Just one quibble.
In many cases, it's deceptive and inaccurate to refer to an "undocumented alien" as an "immigrant." It's clear that many foreign nationals come to the US to work with no intention of settling and becoming citizens. These people are called "nonimmigrant aliens" in the law, particularly those for whom Guest Worker ("cheap labor") legislation is designed and H1 visas are offered - the commoditization of labor is appalling.

4. I don't like any law enforcement-based solutions to anything
I say let them come and stay here. They do more good than harm.

6. How Are Illegals Getting Hired At Union Shops?
Don't you have to join the union? How could an illegal alien do that?

11. And Why Are We Unable To Organize These Workers?
It's because they are "illegal" so if they start using the "U" word, they get turned over to La Migra.

14. Unions are split on the issue, too
Some favor a guest worker program, thinking they will be able to organize workers once they can be here legally. Others see illegal immigrants as scabs who've been used by employers to bust unions. Read Schlosser's _Fast Food Nation_ for info on the role of illegal immigrants in breaking the unions in the meat packing industry. The meat industry loves cheap labor.

Another reason I don't eat meat.

8. Excuse me
What employers are doing is already against the law and when done with knowledge that the person is undocumented is I think a felony
