A credit card telemarketer called me at work yesterday
trying to give me a credit card.

I was completely over it.

Isn't that illegal?

As it is, I don't answer these solicitation calls at home.

Now they are hounding me at work?

:grr:

1. They call me at work all the time.
They start in on their spiel, I just hang up. I don't have time for that shit at work. I tried to put our work # on the Do Not Call list but I don't think it took. :grr:

4. He knew my name
I thought it was a business call.

5. My wayward daughter got a call at work, they asked for her by name
when reception desk answered the call, from some clown soliciting donations for some ministry at a college! She was furious AND unnerved! Guy said he got her name from the company's web site. She asked around the office. Only one other person got such a call, again, caller asked for her by name, the week before.

Sounded hinckey to the wayward daughter.

3. Do you have a direct-dial number at work? If so, maybe you need...
to put that number on the Do Not Call list. I hadn't thought of that. I'm going to do it for my work number.

6. When my son gets telemarketer calls, he'll say:
"You're just the one I've been wanting to talk to, what have you got?" Then he'll lay the phone down and go back later to see if they are still there and to hang up the phone. This costs them more because they have to go through the whole spiel into an empty phone.

7. LOL! that's a good idea.
I've been known to keep them on the phone for 30 minutes or more (I don't have much of a life).

8. Say "Thanks. I was thinking of declaring bankruptcy until you called."
Say that you already gave notice to your employer, got a Swiss passport, and opened a Swiss bank account. Then ask how much money you can borrow.

9. Tell the caller you're at work, and you're REALLY busy ...
... so could you please have HIS home phone number, so you can call him later and discuss it. Then ask what time he usually has dinner, so you can call him then ...

10. I got a call from a solicitor, listened to their speel long enough to
get the name of their company, then said I'm on the Do Not Call list and am going to report this call. The girl said "Go ahead" in a really angry tone, so I went to the Do Not Call website and tried to file a complaint, which kept going into a loop. Finally, after not getting anywhere, I logged off. Anyone filed a complaint that went through?

12. Have privacy manager
but always take the calls because one of them might be important. Lately I have been getting CC calls, but also these debt mananagement companies call with their balony too. Wonder where they are getting my name? If I took all of the CC offers which were offered to me then I might soon need debt management.

13. We recently put in a second phone line
just to hook up my husband's computer. There is a phone on it, but NO ONE we know has the number. It rings about 8 times a day. We don't pick up, no messages are left. Clearly telemarketing. We are gonna unplug the sucker.

Our main line is on the do-not-call list.

14. I don't think they are supposed to.
Whenever I got those calls at work, I would say that this was a place of business, they would apologize and hang up. Maybe the laws have changed.
