CIA, by presidential authorization to pursue al-Qaeda, is virtually a rogue army unto itself, its activities not officially recognized or acknowledged.

these bastards are literally trying to get away with murder. Women and children are now dead, and the Bushistas are more concerned with PR spin.

Either a blanket authorization or a specific one. At least that was the case with Big Dawg.

13. a blanket CIA authorization to combat al-Qaeda
predator drones are to be a standard tool in that, as the CIA lobbied after 9-11 for arming them with missiles instead of just spying equipment.

12. Pentagon Generals know this was a war crime
They're just trying to ensure their lack of culpability in this incident is on the record.

Not that they haven't got their own set of war crimes to worry about.

US military not conducting attacks in Pak: Pentagon

Agence France-Presse

http://www.hindustantimes.com/news/181_1598266,00050001.htm

The Pentagon said the US military was not engaged in operations in a Pakistani border area where 18 people, including women and children, were reported killed in a missile strike.

"There is no reason to believe the US military is conducting operations there," said Lieutenant Colonel Todd Vician.

19. "There's no reason to believe the US Military is conducting operations
there" except that they have been reporting that we have been on the Pakistani border for months! Same with Syria, we have been on that border for months too.

They have a short attention span and think we all do too.

They forget, their "propoganda" leaves a video and audio trail.

25. right. here it is
US builds new Afghan airbase

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/3658971.stm

The US military is building a new airbase in south-eastern Afghanistan, in a remote desert area near the border with Pakistan.

US commanders say the airstrip, in Paktika province, will be capable of taking large transport aircraft.

In less than four days' time, the troops of the 27th Combat Engineering Battalion aim to have created an airstrip capable of taking C-130 transport aircraft.

Even larger aircraft will eventually be able to land here.

US commanders will not say exactly how they intend to use the base, but it will allow them to move far larger forces into this region more quickly.

But US forces are keeping a close watch on the area, with aircraft patrolling as well as troops on the ground.

20. I wonder how Pervez Musharraf is taking it...
This isn't the first time Musharraf has found out his Loving Friendship with Bush has its price.

Oh, it hasn't been without its benefits. 2 years ago, we forgave a huge debt of around $4 billion dollars. Poof, gone. We also sold him some fighters with nuclear capability. Maybe we gave them to him!!! India came unglued over that.

NOW Musharraf sees how hard it's going to be, to keep his lucrative friendship with Washington, and balance the murderous rage of his people.

Which will it be, Pervez? Feeling a little lucky today? Just DON'T get into a car with this man.:smoke:
