...Back on February 23rd Authentium acknowledged that their software is blocking Craigslist but it still hasn't fixed the problem, more than three months later...

Craigslist has approached Authentium several times to get it to stop blocking access by Cox internet users but it has been unresponsive. (Craigslist CEO) Jim (Buckmaster) wasn't aware that Cox had its own classified ads service. "That changes things," he said...

Here are Craigslists' system reports: If you scroll down you can see the Cox problem, and there are quite a few problems with others too: email with SBC, and also with Yahoo and BT Internet. Are those problems also related to the telcos using software that discriminates against Craigslist?

2. Another spin: Net Neutrality Nightmare Come True?
June 8, 2006

Was Cox Communications, an ISP and online classifieds site, caught this week paying Internet security firm Authentium to block customer access to the free classifieds site Craigslist.org?

Or was it a case of a simple bug in the system?

Authentium's Ray Dickinson told internetnews.com that a blog post brought the problem to his company's attention and that they were already working on fixing it.

"This has nothing to do with policy," Dickinson said. "The glitches boil down to two technical issues. One on our end and one on theirs.

"The Craigslist server returns a TCP packet of zero window and our firewall driver doesn't handle that properly and all subsequent exchanges happen one byte at time."

"This is a technical glitch," he said. "It's a bug. It's a bug we're going to fix."

3. I have Cox. I can access craiglist just fine
or any other site I want. However, I don't use their security suite, as I already have other things I use and like.

6. I have a technical question for any" comp nerds "out there
Edited on Thu Jun-08-06 11:05 PM by discerning christian
For the past two weeks I have been unable to open any threads or images on DU. Also am having a problem with smilies and spellcheck. On my regular emails, I can no longer open links, like my expectant daughters baby registries, etc. I keep getting an error box stating that the task manager can't open because they are "busy"???? Any suggestions? I have SBC Yahoo, and it was fine until AT&T took over!! Please, I'm at my wits end, and only have basic computer skills. Thanks DC

10. Once we lose the freedom of the internet, that's the beginning of the end.
Police State will be just around the corner from that.
