My rant of the night re: Coulter, wish my local paper would publish it

Whether some right-wing nut will be influenced by Coulter's Nazi hate propaganda against liberals, Muslims, and anyone not like her and commit a heinous act of violence remains to be seen.

But if it happens, I sincerely hope Coulter and every company involved in publishing and selling her hate speech is sued out of existance by the victim's families. In addition, I hope Fox News and every other hate speaker like her, including O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Savage, etc. is levied in a class-action lawsuit and has to suffer excessive punitive damages, AT THE VERY LEAST.

I believe the most important right in this country is free speech, but not when it it intentionally used to encourage people to harm others. Coulter's "speech" explicitly encourages hate, racism, bigotry, and violence. She represents the very worst of not only the Republican Party, but the human race, and she's not alone.

1. For a lawsuit to succeed, would the plaintiffs have to prove

That Coulter's verbal dysentary led directly to people being killed?

She's a loathesome psychopath but I don't know that you could show that direct a link between her words and other people's suffering(other than OURS, of course...).

4. Sometimes bringing the suit and exposing the

foul, pestilent underbelly of the party she supports is enough. Sometimes dragging her out there under bright lights and a microscope will be enough to discredit her forever.

Remember, few people actually read her swill. Her books are bulk bought by right wing stink tanks and propaganda organs and given as premiums to donors. The donors rarely bother to read them.

So yes, when (not if) some nutcase starts opening fire on anybody he suspects of being a godless liberal, a suit can and should be brought.

There are two things the right can't tolerate: close examination and ridicule.

2. If any of my family, friends, or even acquaintences were hurt or killed

because of her, I would press the charges personally

3. She is an act ...... 80% of the crap from her mouth is a put on.

The more angry you get the more she knows that her "act" is working.

If you know that picking up a skunk will result in you getting sprayed .....
you let the skunk go and do what ever he/she wants to.

If you know that every time you ask a certain girl out she says no and then
mocks you to your face .... you figure that you don't need to waste your time
w/ her.

If every time your hear Coulter talking you get mad and see through her lies and
then spend the next 3 hours in a bad mood ..... she wins and you lose. So move
on and forget her it is just an act. Let her sell her shit to the brain dead crowd
...... and you can go out and enjoy a nice June evening outdoors.

5. This is your opportunity. . .I suggest you write the PUBLISHER

of your newspaper complaining about the tone of her columns. . .make it thoughtful and carefully worded to indicate that you don't mind reading varied viewpoints, but find her rants serve no purpose. Challenge the publisher to explain to the public exactly what special contribution Ms. Coulter brings to the exchange of ideas in the newspaper. Let them know that you consider her rhetoric bordering dangerously on the obscene.

Then copy your letter to the parent company (if they have one) corporate office. You can likely find a web site online.
