Catholics can't marry Protestants, and within the Protestant branch of Christianity, people can only marry within their own denominations. (Hey, it was a scandal in my family when one cousin in the 60s married outside her church! That was the fundy branch of the family, not my immediate one, which was a lot saner about these things.)

You left out not allowing people of non-procreative capacity--sterile, impotent, post-menopausal--to marry. What would be the point? And why not match up eye-color, level of education, and in Texas, there would naturally be a prohibition against hitching up a man who wears ropers with a woman who wears "pointy-toe" boots (or vice versa).
