I truly think that the RNC or Karl Rove hire people to monitor these shows and call in.
There are two main kinds I hear:
One will be a well-spoken male, without a discernable accent, who speaks very quickly and knowledgeably (in terms of Republican talking points), using good diction and pretty good debating skills. I always picture these guys as sitting in a back office of some RW Congressman.
The other type will be what sounds like a black man, with a very strong dialect, if that's the right term. Definitely doesn't sound like a professional or educated person. This one will produce one or two talking points and basically repeat them over and over. Makes one think he was hired to say those things but wasn't instructed as to any background or details.
The young professional-sounding white guy is the more prevalent of the two.
If it's a RWinger calling in to Sam Seder's show, he always starts out with "I'm a new listener, but . . . ." or "I've only heard your show a couple of times, but . . . "
Has anyone else heard these two types of RS callers to liberal and moderate talk shows?
