I think that Biden didn't take the bait this morning...
Tim russert became increasingly angry this morning when biden wouldn't back away from any of the old repug talking points. When he asked him about homeland security and about the funds distribution, Biden said get rid of the tax cuts and (which surprised timmy) Timmy then said is that a tax increase and biden agreed which made timmy angry because usually a dem backs away instead of being straightforward. Biden said that the repugs are debating about the flag and marriage while the world is going to hell in a handbasket. He also hit on other points like these which Dean and Feingold usually speak on. If more dems would stop backing down and tell it like it is they wouldn't be called wimps.(like Pelosi and Reid) these two should not be the head of any party. For those who don't like biden this is not about biden its about the dems.

2. Biden was very good this morning on MTP.
He explained (again) how the "vote for the Iraq war" was to give the President more clout at the
U.N. and show that the U.S. Congress was united behind him. The other interesting thing was that
Russert seemed to be goading him by asking Biden about every Dem possibly running for the presidency
except Biden (when Biden has made it clear he is exploring the situation).

3. No matter who the dem is that comes on his show..
I wait for him to ask them to speak for hillary. No one can speak for hillary but hillary they are so afraid of hillary. Repugs want to pick our candidate. Russert doesn't like it when dems answer yes or no.

4. I have to chuckle at your characterization
Pelosi and Reid have shown much more backbone since the Chimperor took office than Biden. Biden can be great. I only hope the spine transplant has finally taken this time.

5. As a political neophyte, I was inordinately impressed with
Edited on Sun Jun-04-06 11:17 AM by EST
Joe Biden. As I got smarter, he got dumber. I also figured out, after being freaked out a few times by the threads on DU, and elsewhere, obviously showing he was highly despised in most quarters. It became clear that he could change clothes so fast--as described by the incomparable Robert Heinlein in the 1950s--like a beauty on a beach in France; able to wiggle out of street clothes into bikini swim wear with the benefit of one small towel and still not violate the public mores of the time.

The bitter disappointment at seeing an imagined thoughtful, firmly guided leader pull silly switcheroos was downright sickening. Triangulating shamelessly, acting like a...well...a p-p-p-politician!

8. Biden's generally pretty good
I may be a bit biased, since I spent the past four years of my life in Delaware, but I generally find Biden to make good appearances.

10. i never understood the antipathy towards biden
sure he's kinda centrist but he doesn't mince words and he's always interesting to watch. he can be abrasive, but that's good. the only other honest congress critters are feingold, boxer, and most of the black caucus.and a few others.

go spitzer!

11. The antipathy is that he represents all that is wrong with the Dems...
Partly, he's so frustrating because he is so good. He's entertaining to listen to, he's intelligent, and he often makes good points.

The problem is that you never really know where he stands on anything. He zigs and zags, and bobs and weaves around obvious truths and realities. He'll say something brilliant and on-target one minute, and then he'll shift stance and go back to the "status quo conventional wisdom."

If he ever actually became a clear, straight-talking liberal, he could be great. But instead he's a classic Demkocratic centris waffler who does more harm than good ultimately.

15. My point is : He said what needs to be said by dems
when going on these Sunday morning shows because a lot of people who don't get the internet, or watch news regularly do watch Sunday morning shows and when they see Pelosi hemming and hawing and afraid to say yes WE WILL INVESTIGATE AND IMPEACH THE CHIMP AND HIS BUDDIES she makes dems look weak and afraid to speak their minds.

18. Delaware - the most lax state for incorporation
"Why Choose Delaware as Your Corporate Home?

More than half a million business entities have their legal home in Delaware including more than 50% of all U.S. publicly-traded companies and 60% of the Fortune 500. Businesses choose Delaware because we provide a complete package of incorporation services including modern and flexible corporate laws, our highly-respected Court of Chancery, a business-friendly State Government, and the customer service oriented Staff of the Delaware Division of Corporations."

20. Dems must never back down from anything the pundits say. That's
how the Rethugs do it. They never back down in the face of facts, allegations, or proof. Dems must adopt the same tactics if they want people to hear them.
