Amazing how someone like John Lennon
could write a song over 30 years ago that is perfect for right now.

Were playing those mind games together
Pushing the barriers, planting seeds
Playing the mind guerrilla
Chanting the mantra, peace on earth
We all been playing those mind games forever
Some kinda druid dudes lifting the veil
Doing the mind guerrilla
Some call it magic, the search for the grail

Love is the answer and you know that for sure
Love is a flower, you got to let it, you got to let it grow

So keep on playing those mind games together
Faith in the future, outta the now
You just cant beat on those mind guerrillas
Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind
Yeah were playing those mind games forever
Projecting our images in space and in time

Yes is the answer and you know that for sure
Yes is surrender, you got to let it, you got to let it go

So keep on playing those mind games together
Doing the ritual dance in the sun
Millions of mind guerrillas
Putting their soul power to the karmic wheel
Keep on playing those mind games forever
Raising the spirit of peace and love

Love...
(I want you to make love, not war, I know youve heard it before)

I don't know about anyone else but the last few weeks have been intense around here and I am sure it's going to get even more so. All kinds of strange threads and posters lately. Lots of mind games going on for sure.

6. most people don't know
that the song was inspired by Jean Houston's book
"Mind Games"

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0835607534/102-1485423-3775326?v=glance&n=283155

Jean Houston gained notoriety as the "psychic" that was helping
Hilary Clinton "talk to the dead Lincoln".
(she's actually a protege of Margaret Mead that does high
end corporate creativity training and cultural awareness)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Houston

I saw her speak in Ann arbor about the time the song came out, and
joined a "mind games" group briefly myself.

10. The Reagans has their own 'spiritual advisors' too.

Until I see empirical research, using sound methodology, I will consider Jean Houston's work New Age pseudoscience.

Here's where she got her terminal degrees:

8. This fits.
WHEN THE SHIP COMES IN
Bob Dylan

Oh the time will come up
When the winds will stop
And the breeze will cease to be breathin'.
Like the stillness in the wind
'Fore the hurricane begins,
The hour when the ship comes in.

Oh the seas will split
And the ship will hit
And the sands on the shoreline will be shaking.
Then the tide will sound
And the wind will pound
And the morning will be breaking.

Oh the fishes will laugh
As they swim out of the path
And the seagulls they'll be smiling.
And the rocks on the sand
Will proudly stand,
The hour that the ship comes in.

And the words that are used
For to get the ship confused
Will not be understood as they're spoken.
For the chains of the sea
Will have busted in the night
And will be buried at the bottom of the ocean.

A song will lift
As the mainsail shifts
And the boat drifts on to the shoreline.
And the sun will respect
Every face on the deck,
The hour that the ship comes in.

Then the sands will roll
Out a carpet of gold
For your weary toes to be a-touchin'.
And the ship's wise men
Will remind you once again
That the whole wide world is watchin'.

Oh the foes will rise
With the sleep still in their eyes
And they'll jerk from their beds and think they're dreamin'.
But they'll pinch themselves and squeal
And know that it's for real,
The hour when the ship comes in.

Then they'll raise their hands,
Sayin' we'll meet all your demands,
But we'll shout from the bow your days are numbered.
And like Pharaoh's tribe,
They'll be drownded in the tide,
And like Goliath, they'll be conquered.

11. goes round in circles
The right wing run is over. People are sick of their lies and constant wars. It reminds me of those times when Lennon was still kicking, and people started questioning the war and the government who kept us fighting in them for twenty years. This era is resurfacing.

12. I'm reading a book about John Lennon right now.
In his youth, he was, uhhhh... not exactly non-violent, but I'll forgive him for all the wonderful things he did after he discovered his spirituality and met Yoko.
