Dear God, what has happened to our country?
A stolen Presidential election.

A disastrous terrorist attack that put the entire world on our side.

Then the PNAC plan is put into play and we are hated by more people across the globe than in any time in History.

We start "renditioning" prisoners to avoid Constitutional and International laws.

Iraq.

Guantanamo.

Abu Ghraib

Faluja.

Wedding Parties bombed.

Haditha.

So many dead.

We have become the type of nation we fought in WWII.

It's Memorial day weekend. Support our soldiers but not the people who have sent them to this hell.

Pray for peace.

2. Hard to believe how quickly everything can go to shit in just
six years.

All the more reason for Dems to work hard in 2006 and 2008 and clean house. The people responsible for creating all this have some accounting to do too.

3. The American Shitheel-that's what happened
We know the type.

Proud to be bullies. Strutting pretend macho jackasses.

People who think that not only does might make right, might makes people suck up to you.

People who think that education is a waste because it makes you elitist-because they aren't educatable.

People who get off on throwing their weight around. They'll claim to talk to people to their face-and when that gets ignored, try to tear other people down behind their backs.

Where did they come from?

Big business has been destroying the average American worker since the 80's (if not before) and the result is that far too many Americans are demoralized. They have no power in theri lives and they know it. So they turn mean. They beat their spouses and their pets, they abuse their children, they focus their lives on beating down everything they see, just because they can't stand to see anyone doing better than them anymore.

8. We hear so much bitching about "60's values". I think it's the 80s values
that are the problem.

And it seems to me (before anyone freaks out, there are a lot of good people in this demographic, too) that many of these strutting, disconnected, overly angry assholes- the guys with the shaved heads and the Bush/Cheney pickup trucks with the oversized tires.. were raised in the 1980s. Those values of "greed is good" and "fuck the other guy" have filtered so deeply into our culture that the unthinkable has happened- the constitution is openly getting shredded, and millions of people "don't care". It was revealed by the Washington Post that US Marines killed, "execution style", children as young as one year old in Iraq.. and people just.. "don't care". They can't be bothered, not with the finale of American Idol, and all.

"Ahhh, fuck 'em"

The Government is spying on everyone- behavior that we never would have missed an opportunity to criticize if it had happened behind the iron curtain; "If you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't mind"

The Reagan Revolution has truly triumphed. Millions of people need to wake the fuck up, but I fear they may have lost the capability.

7. It's never going to happen
I'm half way through John Perkin's Confessions of an Economic Hitman. We have been building this Empire for decades under both administrations. It will never stop until WE implode.

Read it and weep!

21. And implode we will...
...it is a certain as the sunset. It is the final trajectory for all empires throughout recorded history.

I am quite familiar with the Perkins work. I have studied the methods of the US hegemon for decades. Contrary to all the flag waving hyperbole, the US has been a very effective killing machine for a very long time.

But remember....they hate us for our freedoms.

22. It takes time to wrap your mind
around this stuff. I like most thought that it was a terrorist attach on 9-11, UNTIL I read the book

War on Freedom by Ahmed. Was the book that changed my life and how I now look at the US government

9. The U.S. has lost its pride.
Edited on Sun May-28-06 10:54 PM by Erika
Corporatism with a sprinkle of theocracy now rules our country. Pat Robertson blames the gays for our downfall, while he makes wild assertions of leg pressing 2,000 lbs, while selling his energy drinks to those who wish this country to be a theocracy.

We are laughed at openly and world wide.

The Republican Bushbot enablers have done their best to destroy this country.

to run from this tyranny that is growing? You think the U.S. is going to be enough for these madmen. Their lust for power seems to grow exponentially.

17. All the more reason to act now
there are many Americans who are ex-pats living in other countries, don't you think they feel this wrath of the bush empire, maybe indirectly, but we must act. How many of us will defend our country here on our soil?
