My father said Hillary is worse than Bush!
What an idiot.

We had a bad fight about it yesterday.

I just changed my mind about making him my daughter's guardian in my will.

4. you know in some respects he is sort of right
Not only Hillary, but biden, liberman, and others

we know where the repukes stand on the issues, we don't necessarily know where they stand

they voted for the IWR, the patriot act, the bankrupcy bill

will they try for a fillibuster of alito? I doubt it

6. Just to be fair though
Hillary didn't vote for the bankruptcy bill. Bill was having surgery that day.

That said, I'm not a fan of her's and I certainly wouldn't vote for her in the primaries.

5. Ask him if he would support illegal wiretaps, illegal wars, etc
If Hillary was in the White House?

Then sit back and watch him lose every shred of credibility he ever had.

10. I did-I asked him if he supports the slaughter of our troops w/o armor
He does not give one fuck about anything except the abortion issue. He is AN IDIOT no matter how many damn times I have tried to explain his stupidity to him.

I'm thinking about severing the relationship.

..I mean the abortion debate being EVERYTHING to some people...

You know, I don't believe it for one sec...people who use this point,
I believe use it, because they have absolutely no knowledge about anything
that is going on politically. They need a talking point they can handle..and
if they happen to believe the talking point, all the better for them to use
irrational emotion to hammer their ONE POINT home.

Also, lets see...if his city/home was wiped out like New Orleans, no power, no sewage,
no water (you get the picture)..I'll bet my ass in the grass that he wouldn't be
running around trying to save the sperm/egg hookup.

P.S: Not meaning to offend your dad as your dad..only his believe system is offensive

edit: oops typo.

20. There are plenty of people who vote only on
one or two issues, namely abortion and gay marriage. In 2004 my family went on and on about those two issues until I thought I was going to scream, but they had no knowledge of any other issues, nor did they care.

In 2005, though, my dad became very uneasy about W's proposed Social Security revamp and like everyone else got hit hard by high gas prices. He's also having to pay a fortune out of his own pocket for the drugs to treat his newly diagnosed congestive heart failure because he's being dicked around by Medicaid (or is that Medicare - I get confused). All of that means he's having a big case of buyer's remorse and wishing he'd paid attention to the big picture before the election.

7. Is he a Bush fan?
Why is Hillary relevant to anything? As far as I know, Bush is president and Hillary is just a senator. Is there a reason he dislikes Hillary?

I personally am not a fan of hers and would not vote for her in the primaries, but I wouldn't expect invasions of nations based on lies, illegal wiretaps, and tax cuts for the wealthiest people if she were president.

13. I hate this shit about Hillary
Can you imagine what the RW would say if she came out against the war? "Hanoi Hillary"? What is it about her that has alot of people here so pissed? She hasn't done anything that the other dems haven't done. I just can't see picking our own people apart, for whatever reason.

18. She has power to change the debate
She has more power over the media than any other person in DC and she refuses to use it, or she's using it to perpetuate the Lieberman message. It was her idea to vote for the IWR, she's convinced she has to be a hawk to win in 2008. Others supported the Clinton Presidency, and are tarred with doing the best they could with what the Clintons offered. That's why she gets the shit, she's the ringleader who has earned it.

I wonder what your dad thinks of people like Brownback and George Allen.

BTW, however angry you are with your father for his political views, try not to let it spoil the relationship between the two of you. Remember, he's the only father you have.

24. My Dad voted for Bush and now he realizes
what a mistake that was... He is a big advocate of civil rights and he is concerned that ours are being taken away one by one... But even if he did not feel this way and still believed in Bush, I would not love him any less and neither should you. Find it in your heart to resolve your difference with your Dad.....
