but if memory serves me correctly, Holy Joe was one of the biggest drum beaters for war before diplomacy and the inspectors were both allowed to do their work; I don't think having him as prez (AHHHHHHHHH, perish the thought!) would have made any difference as far as Iraq is concerned.

the only liberals we know who supported this war are Jewish. I know that sounds anti-semetic and I'm not but to them, and most of my friends who fit this category wouldn't admit it, it was more to protect Israel.

Now, having said that, if that WAS the reason we went or should have gone into Iraq, I might have been persuaded it was the right reason. Problem is, that isn't the reason we were given hence we didn't discuss it. (I'm not sure I would have been persuaded by that argument...I'm just saying.)

One thing you can put money on: if Joe had taken us to war in Iraq, Rush Limbaugh and his like would be the "unpatriotic" ones screaming every day how awful it was to go to war.

(I'm not sure Joe would have invaded Iraq. He would have wanted to protect Israel but the other reasons advanced for this war, openly or in secret, like oil and politics (to stay in power) would not have been as attractive to him as to Bush et al.)
