Theory: What if they got to Fitz?
What if they made him an offer he couldn't refuse?

1. I don't think he'd be interested
The only thing he's interested in is justice and the truth. I don' think he'd be interested in any "offer" they would make to him.

4. Just not seeing it
Fitzie is a rare breed. The highest of ethics and integrity.

There was some chatter about Bush nominating him as a judge. He probably didn't make the cut simply because he IS ethical and apolitical.

5. What If Octopi Fly?
This guy is a pro and he likes his work. Now, his whole professional reputation is based upon being a giant killer. He's not going to sell-out.

Besides, he's already indicted the CoS of the 2nd most powerful (in theory) person in the world. What possible good would it do to try to buy him off now? It would be far too late.

If he has the evidence, he'll indict. Getting the evidence is likely the hardest part given the criminal mentality of this crowd in the White House.

14. It is not possible for Octopi to fly.
Perhaps it is highly improbable that Fitz could be bought off. Or threatened off.
But it is possible.

17. If, If, If, If, If, If, . . .
Positing a hypothetical that could POSSIBLY happen, no matter how improbable, without any context to support such a supposition is no more valid than wondering what would happen if an octopus learned to fly.

6. If he were "touchable", they wouldn't have howled so loud
when he got the job. I just don't think this guy is interested. The only thing I worry about is, if he was being threatened by the BFEE, to whom could he turn for protection? FBI? No. Secret Service? No. Their reach is very long.

9. I just finished watching The Godfather with my 17 yr. old son.
Towards the end the godfather is lamenting that his son Michael had to get involved in "the family business" at the shoot 'em up level.
The Godfather says that he had hoped to have had his son enter "the family business" as a Governor or Senator where one didn't have to be a trigger man....less actual blood on ones hands.

Fitz has a record, and an impeccable one. Do a little research.

11. I doubt it
But that's not saying he wouldn't take his time and have that type of conversation with BushCo, even if only to gather more information he could use later. Fitz seems to be a very, very patient man who is open to listening and exploring all possibilities before he acts on anything.

I think it would be ultra cool if he were listening carefully and taking notes to be used later in other indictments:)

21. I try to never ask questions about impossibilities.
However, as a social scientist I am compelled to ask hard questions about probabilities.
It may be highly improbable that he took any offer of reward.
It may be highly improbable that he would succumb to threats.
However it is not impossible and hence my question.

24. Or maybe a lot around here are victims to ENDLESS speculation!
From reading this site the past week, you'd think Fitzgerald was superman, and Rove was some evil mastermind genius.

Frankly i'm fucking sick of the whole speculation game. We'll know when we know, and until then, everything else is just bullshit.

Jason Leopold writing a factually incorrect story logically leads to Patrick Fitzgerald being corrupt.

28. Not impossible
suppose you found one of your pets dead on your step? That's how the Mob operates.. remember the Horses head in the guy's bed?

I knew some wiseguys in Chicago and the pet thing is a cute warning they use - as far as I'm concerned Bush and CO ARE the Mob.

Remember all those Media folks getting anthraxed?

It's all on the table with these monsters..
