Jon Stewart's The Daily Show's guest tonight:

TONIGHT: RAMESH PONNURU - National Review editor, author, "The Party of Death!" Plus, the latest Headlines!

Any insights to Ramesh Ponnuru, or National Review?

1. Google is your friend.
Edited on Wed May-17-06 09:36 PM by ocelot
Seems this dude is a senior editor for that venerable right-wing rag the National Review, and the full title of his book is "The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life," published by Regnery Publishing (whose authors also include David Horowitz and Michelle Malkin). I think we could be in for a heavy dose of wingnuttery from this character.

34. "The Party of Death"? He must
be talking about the neoCONS. It's all about Death with them. With the Dems it's all about Choice!

2. Michelle Malkin said the book was "...excellent...", I'm guessing it's...
some kind of smear. Like I give a shit what a National Review editor says any way.

3. Oh, lord
This is gonna be interesting.

Will Stewart be snide, or overly respectful?

I'm hoping for snide, personally.

Here's what you need to know about this guy - his latest (I think) book is about how Democrats are murderers because we support a woman's right to choose, and his publisher is Regnery, which is the farthest right of the rightwingnutwhackjob presses. They put out the Swift Boat book, and, I believe, are financed by Richard Mellon Scaife.

7. I bookmark this late night page

http://www.interbridge.com/lineups.html#DS

At a glance it tells you who the guests are all week.

When you click on the guest name, it takes you to Amazon and links to any book they’ve written.

Edited on Wed May-17-06 10:23 PM by ocelot
But then, what can we expect? "Dorky and weaselly" are trademarks of young, self-important wingnutty authors.

Jon is having his guts for garters, and the guy is sort of cackling and gibbering -- not responding very well.

It's amazing he had nothing to say the whole interview. If his book has as much content as he was able to deliver to Jon's show it must have movable flabs.
