Al Gore
Given the state of Bush's America its easy to understand why a lot of people regret the day they voted for him. Its hard to have cast that damned Republican vote without now wondering how much better the country would would be now if the lever been pulled for Gore.

Given the choice today an awful lot of people who voted for Bush over Gore would take back their Bush vote if they had the chance. Let's give them the chance.

In the last couple of days the press has turned its jaded eye to our ex Vice President, giving him contender status even though he denys he's in the race. Looking at how much attention he has drawn when he shows no interest in the race its pleasing to immagine how well he will do once the party comes around to backing him again.

Reelect Al Gore for President.

1. I'm starting to lean this way myself now...
There were a lot of things I didn't like about the Gore campaign in 2000--including his running mate--but the man is definitely at the top of my list of potential candidates this time around. I think he may have what it takes, and if he picks the proper VP nominee, I think he's our guy.

2. Chance for a "do over".
I believe that electing Gore would help restore our creditability in the world. It would be a message to the world that we realize what a big mistake was made in electing Bush.

4. I doubted it at first....
People have been talking about him running again since not long after the *selection. I usually don't like to see people run a race again, because the opponents know their targets too well at that point. It's easier to run a second campaign against someone who lost than against a new opponent.

But damned if Gore hasn't looked downright Presidential ever since he came back after his little hiatus to recharge! His speeches have been terrific, and his comedic efforts better than ever as well! (Personally, I ALWAYS thought he was funny as hell, but figured his humor was just too subtle for the general public) His appearance on SNL was just GREAT!

So, while I never stopped adoring him as a person, I did lose faith in him as a candidate for a while... but now, I'm back in his camp. Who knows what could happen between now and then, but dammit, he's a great man, and he'd make one FANTASTIC president!!!
