Congress' Security Cmmtee- "No objections raised to NSA program..."
Edited on Fri May-12-06 07:20 AM by elehhhhna
per Stephanopolis this a.m. on GMA. Says they were informed ages ago & nobody raised any objections.

Could we at least have a date so we know exactly when the Constitution was offically destroyed and our government, rights, assets & country were simply handed over?

2. Of course they didn't object
they were sworn to secrecy about it. If they objected, their clearance to hear anything would be pulled.

5. SO THE FUCK WHAT?!!!
You take your shot. They're there to defend the country and the constitution, not their jobs. Strike hard and loud...gather the editors of every major newspaper and call a news conference and say it on the air for everybody to hear so it can't be denied or hidden. Then let the chips fall where they may. But cowering behind a pinky-swear is cowering nonetheless. They've betrayed their country. They've betrayed US.

3. All the more reason to REMOVE EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS
Since we don't know who exactly betrayed us, since we DO know that a bunch of them certainly did, and sat by for these years pretending they didn't know why we were all getting so fucked over, it's time to clean house of every damned one of them. Starting with YOUR congressman. (I'm already working on getting rid of my Senator, Joe). I say that because the problem always arises -- always -- that people say "throw the bums out!" but then add, "Oh, but not my guy, he's doing a good job." The FACT is, NONE OF THEM are doing a good job, or we wouldn't be in this mess. The rare exceptions might be Patrick Leahy and John Conyers, but even they're not squeaky clean. They all SUCK. Vote for the guy who runs your mini mart, vote for your mom...remember, these positions were designed for "CITIZEN" lawmakers, real people not career pols. We can't continue to just blame bush. He has a big fat pack of accomplices who are allowing him to shred our constitution without so much as an "un, excuse me, but..."

I'm fucking sick of this shit!

4. If it's the same program leaked back in December, members were told
not to say anything to anyone about it for security reasons.

Consequently, even if someone objected there was no way to "legally" make an objection more widely known.

7. They ALL took oaths of office to uphold the Constitution which
they clearly have not done. Also, were they informed PRIOR to it's happening for their approval, or were they just informed about it after it was already happening and then put into the "national security" straitjacket?

If they had told, that we were ALL being monitored, the terrorist could probably give a shit, since they all would expect and think they are being monitored anyway. It's the REST of us who would be mad as hell.

8. Too bad our congressional reps are so completely intimidated
that they wouldn't call the adminisitration on its excesses.
