is huge in Florida because that's where we send our bad boys. And they sometimes don't come back.

People die in custody every day. And that kid brought it upon himself by fighting with the guards, from what I gather.

I don't fault the guards 100% for the actual beating, although it was excessive. What I fault is the cover-up afterwards. Basically they killed him and then the coroner said it was sickle cell trait.

However, I don't work with that population and I have no idea what it would be like. I also think the national media got into it because of the racial overtones with the law enforcement (though I think one was black) and a southern black inmate.

The trial will be interesting and so will the response to the verdict, because you have some really angry folks on both sides.
