Oh, and he just FURTHER embarrassed MY dumb ReThuglican House Rep, showed him reading the Hattie McDaniel part from "Gone With The Wind."

1. I saw it, did you?
He was fantastic and Colbert was playing everything down being his rwhead character kinda like the devil's advocate. Paul told him he did a great job Saturday night!

I'd like to read his book someday.

2. That was a phenomenal interview.
I swear, hearing him go the way he did, with his nonstop barrage of info, was like a new day dawning. I felt it. He spoke for too many people, to be just blowing hot air. He had it all down pat. He was armed. Almost like he is a member of DU perhaps?

Plus, Colbert seems to be ramping up. I like it.

6. Yes, he's really getting this interview style down.
He dials it back a little with those he agrees with, but goes for the throat with the A-holes.

5. He's STILL IN THE RESERVES!!!
And he was FABULOUS!

There's some kind of tide turned.

But, look where he is - on cable.

And this should be on the front page of every American newspaper. It should be the lead in every news show.

It'll go nowhere.

But, that boy deserves great big kudos for having cojones bigger than I would have believed. Hooray for him.

7. He pulled back the curtain a bit.
I think your post gave me a flash of light. When you say it'll go nowhere, I suddenly realized that Mr. Reikoff is speaking for a very large group of Americans. What I mean is, there is a movement. And it's growing. And the mainstream media is going to be the last to know it. In other words, it's gaining momentum from the bottom up. We're used to the media as having a controlling funtion. But that only works under certain circumstances. We're in control now. We always have been. Like Vietnam.

I'd like to say that you made me laugh today. That one word for our dear leader. Haha.

9. I hope you're right,
and, if that's the case, we might have Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to thank, because they've been relentless in their pursuit of Fuckface.

That's the word, isn't it?

The official title is "Fuckface And His Band Of Illegal Squatter Thugs In The Oval Office."

But, I prefer the casual ............

I'm always happy to make anyone laugh on any day. Thank you ..................

8. The Book tour just started, he'll probably be on about...
...two or three more Cable shows (Daily Show, I hope) and then everyone will start to pick up on the book.

Remember, Comedy Central is part of the Mega-Corp Viacom.

16. Here's an updated link for the "Fresh Air" audio
If you've unfamiliar with "Fresh Air," It's a "long form" interview show:

Fresh Air from WHYY, May 4, 2006 · National Guard Lt. Paul Rieckhoff
is the founder and executive director of the organization Iraq
and Afghanistan Veterans of America (formerly Operation Truth).
One of the group's aims is to see that troops in active duty and
veterans are properly provided for.

He has written a memoir about his tour in Iraq shortly after the occupation:
Chasing Ghosts: A Soldier's Fight for America from Baghdad to Washington.
