The always effervescent Pickles to stump for Lincoln Chafee
George is clearly becoming campaign-trail poison....

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- First Lady Laura Bush plans to campaign for Senator Lincoln Chafee this spring.

Bush will appear at a 500-dollar-per-plate fundraiser to benefit the Republican incumbent on May 19th, a day before she's scheduled to give a commencement speech at Roger Williams University. Bush will be stumping for a man who didn't vote for her husband.

During the last presidential election, Chafee cast a write-in vote for Bush's father, George H-W Bush. The Republican incumbent is facing a primary challenge from Cranston Mayor Stephen Laffey. His Democratic opponent will most likely be former Attorney General Sheldon Whitehouse.

1. "Bush regularly calls her his better half, and most polls indicate
that America agrees"

2. Like She's Any Better....
They're joined at the hip as far as I'm concerned. What a joke! She has favorability because she's a woman, and she's not considered "political." But they're probably cut from the same mold, and if she is dumb enough to be married to that ASSHOLE, then she's no different. Time to get her poll #'s down to his level. Pickles indeed.

6. Wrote in Bush's father in 2004?

This reminds me of a line Meathead used in All In The Family: "He didn't like Ford. He didn't like Carter. So he wrote in Richard Nixon."
