Just heard from a bud whose cousin has worked at the Pentagon for years. A poll there amoung the officers showed that 73.8 percent of them thought that Bush's leadership as CinC sucked.

Of course this is second or third hand information and should be taken with a grain of salt, but I think it's probable a valid representation of the military thinking now.

2. Not to say this is junk, but it's the classic pattern of myth
I know someone whose (friend, neighbor, cousin, nephew etc) KNOWS that something incredible that happened that no one else knows about.

If we are going to climb all over RawStory.com and Leopold/Truthout, we ought to recognize this for its incredibility.

9. I have to agree with you.
I'm skeptical that the Pentagon would conduct such a poll (or allow one to be conducted).

8. Good because a military coup would be the last thing we want.

4. And why are they still allowing him to strut and preen and
give orders? Follow the money.

5. If that's an indication of what DODers even want to believe, ...
... it's significant. Sometimes even 'urban legends' are indicative of cultural attitudes. Whether or not some 'scientific' poll actually surfaced such attitudes, the degree to which DODers are willing to believe it is itself substantive.

7. How can he possibly govern now?
This is very very bad for our country. Why didn't more people vote for Senator Kerry? Why
