So they want to read our email?
You know what the problem is with fishing expeditions? They are a major waste of time. I can't even get through my own email which has a good spam filter, in less then an hour a day. Now multiply that by millions of people. NSA and the rest don't have the manpower to even sort through the filtered stuff. No less go roaming around my computer because my google searches surely must set off their alarms. Besides, even if they do want to look at my hard drive, go right ahead. Most of the political stuff on there is documentation of the multitude of crimes committed by BushCo. Hey Agent Mike :hi:, if anyone feels like investigating the WH, I've got tons of info for them. So go ahead and waste tons of time reading our email, most of it is incredibly boring, when instead they could be investigating real criminals like the ones that are living in the WH.

1. You might misunderstand 2 things...one is sorta important to me
First, Bush/Cheney broke the law and in so doing violated various Constitutional provisions. I don't want to let such abuse of power go unchallenged just because you don't mind them reading your email.

Second, and maybe you realize this already...NSA doesn't have a human eye on every email or an ear over-hearing every call, the volume of traffic they are processing in far to big for that. They have search algorithms running in supercomputers that allow them to pick targets that then get attention. They also have a huge archive so that they can go back and rework the data as needed.

2. Maybe I should have used
the sarcasm smilie?

Don't get me wrong. I am outraged. But my attitude, since I decided to post my political opinions in public forums, has been I hope these idiots read my stuff. Maybe they'll learn something?

3. I think your right, never post anything you don't want read.
The same could be said for making purchases on the web. No doubt there is a program somewhere in the government either intercepting or with free access to records of those transactions, too.

If you want to have some anonymity from NSA you have to buy with cash, and never generate an electromagnetic transmission.

4. Enemy's list.
I tend to agree with you, 99% of what is on the net is a waste of time. I would think that they would be more interested in where you are going and looking at, and giving them an idea as to weather you are a "Good American" or not. With the new ID requirements that are to take place within the next 3 years, I am sure that all of your information will be at a cops fingertips when he stops and asks for "your papers please". Or how about when you go to the bank to get a loan or try to get your kid into college. With so much coming to light and the way the Neocons are acting (we can do as we please, elections aren't a problem any more) nothing will surprise me anymore.

5. I always envision getting into a chat with "a 13-year-old girl"
and convincing "her" to have sex with me . . . meeting me in a certain place, look for a man that fits the description I give . . . and then sit back and watch the hilarity when a freeper I know frequents his usual haunt and is picked up by the cops . . .

7. They are welcome to read my Penis Enlargement spam.
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 11:43 AM by davsand
For that matter, I'll be happy to SEND it on to them along with the spam about Cialis, Viagra, and natural male enhancement. Being female, I really don't have much need of it anyway. (Come to think of it, most of my email really is not from anyone I want to hear from anyhow...)

:hi:

All joking aside, NEVER put anything on your computer that you couldn't or wouldn't say in public. That has been my policy for as long as I can remember. Privacy online is an illusion, nothing more.

Laura

On edit:

Hell, maybe we should just SEND them all our spam and make their jobs easier. I cleared out about a 1000 messages worth yesterday from just one account.
