" Dumbest Idea "

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12533219/

"GOP tax rebate plan called costly, ineffective
Economy growing strongly despite soaring gas prices, critics say

For a nation "addicted to oil," as President Bush put it, Senate Republicans have a proposal that can only be described as enabling: Put $100 back into the pocket of every taxpayer.

The proposal, unveiled Thursday, has been roundly criticized not only by Democrats but also by fiscal conservatives who warn it will widen the deficit while doing little to encourage energy conservation.

"It could be one of the dumbest ideas of the year," said Jerry Taylor, a senior fellow at the conservative Cato Institute. "I haven't looked at all of the ideas yet, but it's got to be right up there."

1. When the Cato Catatonics desert you...
...all you've got left is Diebold.

2. Borrow $100 from the Chinese Communist,
use it to bribe the Americans, who will then have to repay the Chinese Communist the same $100 plus interest. Makes about as much sense as that $300 "rebate" bribe we got a few years ago. Unfortunately, thanks to No Child Left Behind, many Murkans are too dense to see through this.

3. I don't know....
on this one, I think even the dumbest knuckledragger can figure out that $100 isn't going to do much for them

although, of course, they won't be thinking of any of the other consequences so who knows

5. Where does the $100 come from...
the taxpayer. This is brilliant. They then take credit for giving you $100 of your money.
