I am sick of the enablers

I'm sick of the women who come into threads about the egregious abuse of the word "bitch" on DU and enable every sexist idiot on the board by proclaiming that they wear the term proudly or it's not really an insult or whatever. When it comes from a man it is NEVER NOT an insult. When it comes from a woman it usually isn't a term of endearment. Reclaiming the word for ourselves is one thing. Though I don't agree with the idea, I understand it. But letting men have a free pass to use gender insults...SO NOT COOL.

It's funny, but posting on DU made me more aware of the word--how it was used, and by who. It can be very ugly.

2. I've never understood people who think "Well I'm a woman...

...and so I can be sexist if I want to." Or maybe more like, "I'm a woman, and so everything I say and do is OK because it can't possibly contribute to our culture of misogyny."
