Which I heard after calling a company that placed an ad, demanding photos from applicants. :eyes:
Yes, pet peeve of mine--given that women worked, sacrificed, fought (and in some cases died) so that we could have our voices heard, vote and not be discriminated against when applying for jobs today.
Anyway, today's uber-lame excuse,"....well, we just get so many applicants....sometimes over a hundred. We're not doing it to discriminate or anything.....having a picture just makes it easier..." It was just too stupid and painful, so I stopped the idiot gatekeeper there.
"I see. So you're too lazy to follow the laws of this state. It's just easier for you to take note of how they look BEFORE you even consider them for an interview, instead of...oh I don't know...looking at their experience and if they are qualified to do the actual job. Got it. I'm forwarding this information to the CA labor board, thanks."
:nopity::eyes::puke:
Was it a job I would be applying for? No. So, technically, none of my business. But given that another young lady or woman out there may NEED that job, (or one like it) and may not be aware that it is not required to submit a photo in this state....I made it my business. That shit is beyond illegal, and is not ok.
