1. Oh yeah
I saw that too. Real nice, there. I see no reason to vote for this ticket other than to keep Grandpa McCreepy from the white house. but really, does it matter at this point? The only reason I'll even vote is because of the Supreme Court. Otherwise, why bother. Same as it ever was.

I guess hope and change is for men. Women should aspire to be Ms Buffalo Chip and be denigrated for having a brain and not hiding it.

Oh no! She has a doctorate!

And again, with the age difference - Biden was a teacher at the university his wife attended when they met. Squicks me out.

You can bet your last dollar if a a woman politician had an age difference with her husband in the other direction, we would never, ever, ever hear the end of it.

2. Not even the Court argument holds any water any more
Biden presided over the Anita Hill debacle and made damn sure he wasn't in the back pocket of women's groups.

What a goddamn joke.

3. That I forgot
I can't believe his disgraceful behavior during that debacle.

My main problem with Biden is the bankruptcy bill. That, to me, is unforgivable.

15. Google was helpful...
..thank you. I had a combined feeling of nauseau and profound sadness (bordering on depression) reading through that crap.

6. He sure did
He was behind some backroom deals made with the Repukes so more witnesses couldn't testify.

I had no idea either until I started Googling, too.

8. OMG
That was pretty goddamn stupid.

I'm not a Clinton supporter, never have been because of her policies, but given the dynamics of this race, it has that undertone of "thank god this is still a man's game."

Not that it wouldn't have been offensive and bigoted anyway, but that it comes at the culmination of the only serious woman contender for the WH losing the primary, it's particularly ignorant.

Imagine if Hillary was the winner, and someone at the convention said a similar thing about Obama having a degree.

9. Yes, exactly. It's been anything-goes sexist hate speech this year.
But then Biden said Obama was clean, bright and "articulate," which is code for talks-like-a-white-guy. The connotation was widely enough understood to prompt outrage. The NYT devopted an article on the gaffe and the word 'articulate.' ("The Racial Politics of Speaking Well," http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/04/weekinreview/04clemetson.html)

Yet he still got picked for VP. Go figure.

11. Ugh, I forgot that was Biden
There was a piece on This American Life this weekend that had to do with a museum staff member assuming a graduate student was in fact a high schooler in a visiting class of kids with special needs. He was reading stuff to her, and she said "I can read." He patted her on the back and answered something like "Your parents must be so proud of you." Kind of similar.

16. These dudes don't even give lip service to
respecting women. I've never been more displeased with a dem ticket in my life. Asking me to vote for it is about all I will be able to muster....vote w/ one hand and hold my nose with the other.

I am beginning to truly hope that the Mayans and Hopis are right about 12-21-12 and that the Earth will truly begin a new age of Peace and a de-emphasis on the masculine. All this money for death, destruction, defense contractors, missile sites in Poland and the Czech Republic, saber rattling by the US and Russia, no leadership in nuclear-armed Pakistan, and last but not least Israel's desire to bomb Iran....it is INSANE. Because McSame is InSane gives me the best reason for voting for his competition. But they don't inspire me by a long shot. Big Biz and The War Machine will still rule.

I guess I should be happy if we get to the election w/o martial law being declared.
