Any Evil DUers on the Beach?
I've been doing South Beach for 4 weeks now. I feel good about the program, but I'd like to have a "Beach Buddie" who's also a Du'er.

I have a hard time being motivated to excersize and could use the occasional "atta girl".

Anyone interested?

1. i am and i'd love to have a beach buddy!
i've been on for 3 weeks now and i'm doing a cross between phase 1 and 2. I bought a treadmill almost 6 weeks ago and i actually enjoy using it, i like to walk and i'm getting a hell of a workout on it. Find something you like and try to incorporate that.

2. Thanks for the reply!!!!
I'd begun cutting back before I decided to follow South Beach and was already losing, some. I'm down 20lbs since mid-June. However, I have about 70lbs to lose (ouch!) it hurts to type that.

As for excersize, it has been sooooo hot here and my three kids at home all day for "vacation" (it doesn't feel like a vacation to me) have been major stumbling blocks. School starts in 2 weeks and I hope to walk regularly, once they're out of my house during the day.

Where are you in the "grand scheme" of things (weight-loss-wize)?

3. Well to be honest i don't weigh myself, i just can't because i let the
number dictate my self esteem for the day so I'm going strictly by clothes and measurements. I'd say i'd like to be around a size 10 which would put me at around the area of 140-150 and judging by where i am now i'd say i have about another 30-40 lbs to go. In the past almost 6 weeks since i got my treadmill and 3 since going on SB i'd say i've lost close to 20 but thats a total guess. In a side note i got the treadmill because of the heat, it's really gross here from about May until early October, i really couldn't see me ever spending $1000 on a piece of exercise equipment but so far it's really been worth it and i think thats aiding my inch loss.

When your kids go back it will be easier for you, i know my daughter is going back on Wednesday (woohoo!!!) and it will give me a break.

4. I've been doing an organic south beach since June 1
And I've lost about 25 pounds -- mostly in my stomach, which I thought would never go away, after my pregnancy (this is 5 years, after my pregnancy). I've been slacking, a bit, the last couple of weeks, and sometimes I get too addicted to peanuts, but it's been really awesome.

I'm going to drop back to a P1 to give myself a head check, for a week, and then keep going. I exercise about 30 min. a day, 4 days a week, and I walk my son to and from school, in the morning. In just this four months, my back pain has gone away, and I can walk much further, and do much more.

I love this "diet," because Dr. Agaston is actually teaching you to eat the right foods, under the "gimmick" of a diet. This is how you're supposed to be eating, anyway.

Good luck! :hi:
