Weight Watchers: Which works best for you: Core or Flex plan?
I am investigating Weight Watchers only because we have access to it where I work, and co-workers who have joined are losing weight like crazy and swear by it! So, I've bought materials and started reviewing, but I can't decide whether or not to go flex or core. I haven't paid to participate - I have to investigate something to death before I take action. :(

Has anyone tried one or both? Suggestions?

Thanks.

1. I have done both.
I did core back when that's all they had and I did flex a couple of years ago. I prefer flex because I'm not that great at sticking to a set diet. I like having the freedom to decide what I want to eat as long as it fits into the flex plan. However, the downside is that I probably wasn't as good at eating veggies and fruits as I should have been but that's always been the case with me.

I would say if you prefer a diet that is a little more prescribed and regimented, you would like core and if you need something more flexible, then you would prefer flex.

Weight Watchers is a great program! I achieved lifetime status and later worked for them as a weigher/receptionist. Good luck! :hi:

2. Core doesn't work for me because they say to eat
just until you are full. If I could do that I wouldn't need WW. I'm not going to start back until after Christmas. I'm not sure what the other poster is talking about the Core program, it's only a few years old. Flex has been around in one form or another for a long time. Good Luck.

3. Perhaps I'm getting the names mixed up.
Actually, they were called neither Core nor Flex when I first started WW in the 80s. There was one program and it was based on exchanges. Every year that I worked for WW, they would unveil a new program or tweaks to the existing program, often giving it a new name. To me, that program with exchanges seemed like Core because there were more requirements to eat certain foods each day. I haven't done Flex for a couple of years but I recall having much more freedom in how to use up my points.

4. I think the exhange program is the best one
and I'm starting back up on it after Xmas. I tried the points one and wasn't able to lose much weight with it. I have previously done the exchange a couple of times and have had good weight loss results. I like the exchange because it encourages proper eating habits and it's dead simple to follow.

5. As of Dec 7th WW has changed to the
Momentum program, a combination of Core and Flex. To me Core and Momentum resemble Atkins with proteins now being called filling foods. Kinda makes me wonder if Atkins was right all along. What do you say dieters?
