Letting go
I am getting a gigantic lesson in the area of letting go in my life right now. My 16 year old son has decided to go back to Minnesota to finish high school, with my blessing. I am really hurting about it, even though I know it is the right thing to do.

Keep me in your good thoughts!

1. Letting go is hard
I can only imagine what you are going through. I hope you can at least visit over breaks and that he does well in school.

2. Visiting over the breaks is the plan
He is a very good student, and I think if he would have stayed here, he may have not stayed a good student because of unhappiness.

4. Fifteen years old is a terrible age to try and uproot a kid.
I am grateful that my parents are willing to keep him safe.

to allow her children their freedom. Good for you. And more :grouphug:
Chances are good that he will respect you for respecting him.

11. He must be a secure kid to feel he can do this.

You raised him to be confident. That is what we are supposed to do.

But I know how you feel. My daughter went to college at 16.
I cried for week, but we both survived.

A day at a time we can do anything.

12. Yes we can!
Only way to tackle an issue is one step at a time.

13. Bless You KW!
I can't imagine how hard that must be.

Having been a 15 year old kid uprooted from school, I know that it is hard to do. I was probably better off for the uprooting, but as a socially awkward, and insecure 15 year old boy, alcohol and drugs were part of what "fixed" me in my uprooting.

In the end, I was better off uprooted. Your son may be better off back where he was.

At any rate, I think you must be a loving and wonderful mother to give this idea a whirl.
