I had a lithoscopy May 5 to remove a stone from the lower pole of my left kidney that was suspected of causing my chronic kidney infection. Within weeks, I had another kidney infection and passed another stone (and a rare one at that!) Then five more acute infections, the entire urology department basically saying, "We dunno what to do! Try drinking baking soda to lower your pH for the stones and cranberries for the kidney infection." So, I tried that deeelicious combo, formed and passed another large stone (again apatite, which shouldn't be forming in my pH) and now I have another flareup of the kidney infection. Plus I got my flu shot today, so I feel like death on a cracker.
Good news: I am under doctor's orders to stay away from babies and children. Yes! It's official!
