If you believe it is acceptable to post insulting photos as a reply to posts, then I want no part of this group. What is insulting? A picture of a blimp, as a reply to one of my posts. A picture of the fat chick from the Drew Carey show, in another thread.

These are called Personal Attacks, and they are not permitted on DU. That's why they were deleted - because they were in violation of the rules.

If someone feels unwelcome here, they need only look to their own behavior for reasons why they might feel that way. As to their behavior, well - the offensive posts were deleted, weren't they? I guess there's no evidence to back up anyone's story.

I've been a part of this group since the beginning. I'm here nearly every night. And I think most of you know me, and the quality of my character. If you have issues with me, then let's get it out, right here, and right now. Put up, or shut up.

On the other hand, I've seen you try to temper discussion on more than one occasion, including the WhirlyGirl/Shopaholic catfight that got deleted/locked, shortly before they were banned. Oh yeah, it was "tempered" all right. If that's what you want to call repeated attacks on the veracity of people who attempt to post here. And that may be one big reason why there are those who are reticent to become regulars here--they know they will be attacked and would prefer to remain silent. And that is my entire point. And while you may not think there is a problem, others do and have admitted that to me. And why would anyone want to come forward to confront the offender given the overtly hostile title of this very thread? I present to you Exhibit B. Of course, like other crimes and offenses committed here, I'm sure I'll be the one who is blamed for the problem itself, instead of being the one who merely had the courage to speak out about it to begin with.

Each of you is the judge and jury of everyone who posts here. Each of you is capable of reading what has been posted here and forming your own opinion of the posters by what they have posted. The posts speak for themselves.

and while i make it a policy never to form a grudge over a difference of opinion here... what you describe is different, and not so easily forgiven or forgotten.
i'd be really wary to give this person a whit more attention, it seems that this is what they want.
it may not be easy to ignore, but it's surely what this poster deserves.
