no "fresh" KO on Countdown this week

I'm home with the little one today, as her preschool observes HISD's schedule and is therefore closed until after New Year's. I had the Dan Patrick show on while doing some housework and a conversation between Dan and Keith led to the revelation that Keith will not be on Countdown again until next week. If memory serves, they're doing a clip show on the 23rd, but I don't know if they're planning that sort of thing for other dates or whether we'll get Alison for the other four nights. Or Monica would be a welcome substitute anchor (HINT). If they dump Alex Witt on us again, I'm going to drain the brandy off the dried fruit I'm soaking for the stollen and drink it in one gulp. ;-)

For those of you who wither without fresh infusions of Keefy goodness (:hi: Berry!), I believe KO will still be doing Dan's show at least some of this week. As he signed off, he said, "See you Wednesday," to Dan. (Dan himself will not be there tomorrow. KO does do his daily hour even on the days Dan isn't there, or at least he did last Thursday, as I caught some of it on the way to the airport.)

Thanks for the info that DAN is the one who will not be on his show tomorrow. I was listening to try to pick up whether that was the case, but didn't catch it so feared that maybe Keith was the one not on. At least the week won't be completely Keefless, then.

I can't blame the man for wanting to have sufficient time to get online this week to buy gift cards for everyone on his list. And I'd much rather find out way ahead of time than tune in the show only to hear someone else's voice. I'm just all the gladder he does Dan's show now too...so that even if he's taking a week off Countdown, I don't have to have a "blue Christmas without Keef."

Hey...just for chuckles...how many people's first thought when they came to DU and saw the ad that said "Happy Hannukah, Bill O'Reilly!" was "Boy, Keith's got ANOTHER ad going??" (Not to mention "I thought Ann Coulter was the one who wore the eye patch!")

Sure enough, it wasn't *Dan* who was off today--it was Keith.

Thank goodness he will be back tomorrow. I am suffering through a sad totally Keithless day!

I'm also glad Carey reassured us he will be back after Christmas. In other words, never fear, he's not taking two weeks off, just one. Obviously he saved his online gift-certificate shopping until the last minute!

I am looking forward to what will no doubt be grumpy comments tomorrow about the transit strike. It can't be any easier for Keith than for anyone else. Stalled traffic is stalled traffic--and as far as walking goes, the sidewalks of NY are crowded enough when everything's moving normally. I would hate to see how crazy they are now.

6. Sorry, I thought it was Dan who said he would be absent

I missed it in any case, as I was elbow-deep in the stollen. I'm positive he said, "see you Wednesday", so they should both be on today.

7. Oh, I knew I heard him say that

and he was on today all right...but what killed me is that Dan said "Keith joins us today from 2 to 3 Eastern, as he always does..." when he had literally JUST NOT BEEN ON THE DAY BEFORE! :rofl:
