Anybody familiar with Bart Whitaker, of Sugar Land, TX, who planned to have his family murdered?

Bart Whitaker conspired with two of his friends to execute Bart’s family in December of 2003. Bart Whitaker's father, Kent, was shot but survived. Bart was shot in the shoulder to “prove” he was a victim too.

The night of the murders, the Whitaker family went out to dinner to celebrate Bart’s “graduation” from college. Only thing is, Bart had not attended college for ages!

There was definitely something dead up the creek here. Bart’s family had no idea he hadn’t been attending college for ages??? What’s wrong with this picture? That family must have had some very poor communication. From what I’ve read and heard about the case, Kent Whitaker sounds like he’s in a lot of denial.

I just finished reading SAVAGE SON by Corey Mitchell, about this case. NOt the best true crime book I've ever read, but not the worse either.

I wish he'd dug more into the family dynamics. However, with only sociopathic Bart and Ken, deep in denial, still alive, it might've been hard to dig into.

This young man has some white eyelashes, like vitiligo.

These stories about people whose families think they are attending med school (Fritz Klenner, Hacking), or in college, or who have some high-flying job, but it turns out they do not and are only faking it fascinate me.
