1. More names may be in the mix:
John Edwards
Blanche Lincoln
Russell Feingold
Barbara Boxer
etc.

Could get interesting.

22. Boxer/Conyers ticket: the only ones with real guts
Boxer and Conyers understand the issues (ie they are not drifting to the right), and they are absolutely fearless. They are the most viable and best qualified ticket we could run.

2. My top 2 choices weren't included
Feingold and Gore.

So I voted for Bayh mainly because I think he is electable.

I would have voted for Dean, but he isn't running.

25. Same here
although I voted for Clark. Wish I could vote for Kerry again, but not sure anymore how much of a fighter he is anymore. Too bad his earlier self wasn't in the race last year.

That said, would have voted for Gore (but Feingold is a good choice, too). The Democratic Party still has a good pool of talent.

I like him more since '00. More passion, more sure of where he stands. And, he's the only one who get's it about the need for alternative energy sources.

24. AS USUAL:
Clark leads the way. Come on you people, a clear winner is staring you in the face. What is it going to take to get every one of you to support General Clark. Wes Clark probably has the best chance to connect to the merkin sheeple and win in 08'. I can't believe people like "Bankruptcy" Biden and Russ "Ashcroft is an O.K. guy" Feingold are even in the mix. :D

33. Biden will never get past plagiarizing Neil Kinnock
And it's time Democrats stopped nominating cynical insiders who treat activists with contempt.

Plus Biden let Anita Hill be slandered because he wouldn't let the Judiciary Committee Democrats fight fire with fire.

Beltway conservatives will always lose.

A sudden urge of nationwide hatred of public employee unions in Philadelphia.

Other than that, he doesn't have the national profile yet.

You can't build a presidential campaign on nothing but base bashing.

They are consistently standing up for, speaking out on, and voting for real Democratic values. Without that, we may as well be Repukes.

so take out all those with the exception of Edwards, who is electable. Kerry lost because he was too liberal, and had an extensive voting record. So let's NOT pick someone with a long voting record, please.

28. Too Liberal?
Watch it!!!

Watch that bar!!!!!!

You're allowing them to move it. That's exactly what these right wing nut jobs want you to do. There is no such a thing a too liberal unless you're talking about Eugene Debs. and the Dems have nothing like him in their party. Not that I am saying Eugene Debs is such a bad thing.

Kerry basicly lines up in the middle. I kinda think he's slightly right of center to be honest. FDR would be considered too liberal in todays media climate.

Anyways, be carefull when you here those right wing talking points. Kerry as too liberal is a baseless claim and any media figure spouting that should feel your wrath.

The right wants the middle to appear like the extreme left. Thats how they try and make their crack pot ideas seem sensible.

Dont fall for it.

40. Kerry would have totally creamed Bush if he'd been a real liberal.
As it was, most of his positions were 'Repuke Lite', if decipherable at all, so liberal turnout was not as high as it could have been. Kerry won by only 3 points, not enough to overcome the Repuke fraud. A margin similar to Bush's current approval ratings would be nearly theft-proof, and an honest liberal is the one to pull it off. We don't need more bland nothingness, we need somebody with guts, such as Barbara Boxer, John Conyers, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Maxine Waters...

32. Conyers/Clark
Americas team! Neither of these 2 fit my mental picture of a president but I desperately want to see that picture change. These 2 are soft spoken, yet quite precise in their words. They both have a strong aura of honesty, fairness and calm courage. Once either of them speak, it becomes quickly apparent that neither is trying to further his political career for selfish motives. This "image" will translate to votes, votes by folks who may not have much of a grasp on what is going on in the world today but want a team whom they can TRUST. The rest of us already trust these two. John Conyers hard work with the DSM alone shows me that his actions speak strongly and clearly, he is a true patriot, not afraid to take on impossible odds for the sake of our country. ( my kids need this computer so I will not finish my thoughts here, but these 2 have my trust, and hopefully my votes some day as well)

35. Our man Al Gore
While I think at least Wesley Clark is as electable as Al Gore, and perhaps one or two other potential candidates, I have to point out that we ALREADY DID elect Gore!!! Maybe he did the right thing staying out of the '04 race, but '08 is a different story... His nemesis' political career is effectively over, and by God what the democratic party needs right now is a dream we can get behind. How fine would be the victory if we could put Al Gore in the white house? Personally, I'll vote for any Democratic that makes it onto the ballot, but to elect Al Gore in '08 would not only vindicate the candidate, but it would also vindicate all of us disenfranchised democrats who began to love our country a little bit less with the fallout of the 2000 race.

39. Of those on that list - Kerry.
I would rather vote for Ed Rendell though. I think Rendell is the ideal candidate. He has a very good personality and has a lot of crossover appeal. He doesn't come across as a wishy washy type of guy.

But I think Clarke would be a bad choice. I think that he would be a warmonger. His actions in the Balkans are troubling. He basically went crazy with rage when a British commander under him refused to shoot Russian helicopters coming in to give aid to the Serbians.

I don't think Hillary would be very good either. She would be the candidate who would motivate what I believe will be, thanks to Iraq, a very dispirited Republican party in 2008.

Of those on that list, I would go with Kerry. I think he has learned through the mistakes he has made and would take advantage of a second chance. I think he has the proper temperment to be an effective president. But he has to learn to stay consistent during the campaign season.
