Friday, 9/2: I worked out today--did you?
Hi gang,

I jogged 3 miles and then I spent some time in the weight room doing the tricep curl, the lat pulldown, the leg abductor, and my knee work.

What's your story today?

1. I'm going to Pilates in a few minutes
Then later I'm meeting with my personal trainer for the first time. :hi:

2. 3.48 mile walk in an hour
The treadmill is a wonderful thing. I feel wore out right now, though. I guess that's good.

3. Deadllifts and my first bike commute
Took the bus and then biked the last 5 miles. I've been thinking about doing this for a while but the price of gas finally gave me the shove. I wish I could do the whole thing by bike, it's only 9 miles, but the two roads I have for the first 3 miles are very dangerous. One has crosses from where people have been killed and the other is a country highway with no shoulder and people driving 60MPH.

4. I did not. I feel bad, but was so tired I slept in late this morning.
I hope to get a walk in tonight, but I'm not sure I have the energy.

5. *sigh* I did, but
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 05:04 PM by vikegirl
a wave of guilt hit me as I was exercising. I kept thinking, "Damn, here I am trying to maintain my fitness level, sweating and cooling off with a nice ice-cold liter of water, when there are people in NOLA who now cannot even drink a cup of water." The discrepancy between my situation and their plight is enormous, and I cannot help but feel terrible about the chasm.

Anyway, FWIW, I did a step interval workout.

6. Bleh, yeah... soooo tired
Did chest and back today. Cleared 52 palm inward pullups (total spread out over the hour) which is a record for me - I'm trying to get to the point where I can do 50 of any configuration in 5 sets or less, but that's still a long way off.

I'm also trying to push the cardio warm-up and cool-down a bit farther than I used to with even a little jogging.

That said, I'm going to pass out now.

8. Indeed
Weights, treadmill and bike as usual. I'm rather disappointed with how little progress I'm making on my weightlifting. I've been doing this 2-3 times a week since 08/05 and particularly on the upper body I'm getting nowhere. I've been able to increase the weight on the leg press, ab machine and back extension, but nothing else. I just don't get why I'm not improving despite the persistent effort.
